Dr. Richard E. Meyer
Richard E. Meyer is a Professor Emeritus of English and Folklore at Western Oregon University. He has written and edited 14 scholarly books, published numerous articles in academic journals devoted to literature and folklore, presented more than 70 papers at national and international conferences and has, himself, been the subject of interviews in media, ranging from The New York Times to National Public Radio to The History Channel.
In 1980-81, he served as a Fulbright scholar, teaching and conducting research at the University of Reading, England.
A parishioner at St. Joseph Church, he enjoys playing guitar and banjo with his roots Americana band, Burnt Cedar.
