Mid-High (7-8 graders)


Wednesday Night Faith Formation

(English): Oct – May from 6:45pm-8:15pm in the gym classroom.  This group uses the Catholic Connections Resource from St. Mary’s Press for mid-high which follows the outline of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.


Saturday Exodo

(bi-lingual): Oct-May from 5pm-6:45pm in the gym classroom followed by 7pm Mass – Exodo is an apostolate of Missionaries of the Holy Spirit.


Sunday Youth Gathering

(Spanish): Oct-May from 11:30am-1:15pm in Youth Room, followed by 1:30pm Mass.
This group rotates through 4 themes:

 

Hot Topic - a wonderful opportunity to address key components of our faith from the communion of saints to the beauty of the Mass and why they are still relevant today
Dead Theologian Society - a night dedicated to learning about the saints
Lights Camera Faith – movie night that looks at movies that correlate to living our faith
Sacred Scripture – delving into Scripture and how it reveals God’s plan for our Salvation

 

 

High School (9-12 graders)


Wednesday Youth Night

(English): Oct –May 6:45pm-8:15pm in Youth Room. 
This group rotates through four themes:

 

This is Our Faith – a wonderful opportunity to address key components of our faith from the communion of saints to the beauty of the Mass
Dead Theologian Society – a night dedicated to learning about the saints
Ike Box – we will head on over to the Ike Box for fellowship and digging into Scripture through Lectio Divina
Mass with Praise and Worship – the fourth Wednesday of the month we will gather with the 7-8 graders for an opportunity to celebrate our greatest prayer the Mass

(Spanish): 5pm-6:45pm in Youth Room followed by 7pm Mass – great opportunity for upper classmen (11th-12th graders) to enjoy fellowship and grow in their faith community


Lunch time ministry

During the week youth ministers from the Salem-Keizer vicariate will visit local high schools during lunch time to meet and discuss the week’s Mass readings and how to incorporate them to our daily lives.

 

Confirmation
Our Confirmation program is open to youth aged 13-18 and is a two year commitment.  Those wishing to receive the sacrament are expected to be actively involved (weekly commitment in one of the above mentioned ministries) in the parish community the year prior to receiving the sacrament and the year they are confirmed must attend monthly classes with parents, attend two retreats, submit a community service reflection, read the Gospel of Mark, in addition to continue with weekly involvement in the parish, and write a letter to Archbishop Vlazny.
